Expert in using language and AI to understand mental health etiology, progression, and treatment.

I'm a PhD student in the Department of Psychology at the University of California, Berkeley's Computational Cognitive Science Lab lead by Dr. Bill Thompson. I research how we can use AI and other data-driven models to understand how people's thoughts and language relate to their mental health behaviors. I'm particularly interested in what language can tell use about the etiology, progression, and treatment of severe mental illness. I aim to develop and optimize language-based algorithms tailored to psychopathology constructs, but in doing so also explore how LLMs themselves conceptualize human biases and behaviors.
